The Cotswolds are scattered with small pretty towns and villages providing pleasant places to while away the time. This full day to the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds country, travels via the villages of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton where you can explore the ancient almshouses, farmers’ market, and the many fine pubs and restaurants.
Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway
We travel to Cheltenham to board the heritage railway hauled by a steam locomotive on a gentle trip through the glorious Cotswold countryside. We get off at Broadway, known as the jewel of the Cotswolds. The combination of the train experience and time in Broadway is the prescription for a perfect day out.
Cirencester
Whether it’s a visit to the Corinium Museum, the Market Square with the Paris Church of St. John Baptist, Brewery Arts Centre, Cirencester Park or the Roman Amphitheatre, Cirencester has plenty of points of interest. Its diverse range of shops means that Cirencester is a popular shopping destination too. With its mix of chain stores and local shops it really does have something for everyone. On the way home we will stop at another delightful Cotswolds village, Bourton-on-the-Water
