The nearby designated coastal park of Samphire Hoe is a wonderful place to wander and pass the time. The area’s maritime history is well preserved too, through ancient remains and architecture. the resort is well-connected allowing for fantastic excursions to Bruges and Canterbury.
HOLIDAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Begin your holiday with an overnight stay in a quality hotel in the heart of England with dinner, bed and breakfast included.
Day 2: Travel to Folkestone and arrive relaxed and refreshed at the Clifton Hotel.
Day 3: Enjoy an excursion to Canterbury. The jewel in Kent’s crown, this world-famous cathedral city was one of medieval Europe’s great places of pilgrimages and knowledge. The extraordinary cathedral dominates the medieval streets within the city walls. Wander the winding streets and visit King’s Mile for some shopping or perhaps take a boat trip along the River Stour, another popular way to discover this city.
Day 4: We take the train through the Eurotunnel to the cosmopolitan town of Bruges in Belgium (passport required). Explore the town’s handsome squares, particularly the Burg which is dominated by the medieval City Hall. Or take a cruise along the canals to discover secret gardens and picturesque bridges. Bruges is the world’s capital of chocolate and there is an abundance of Belgian chocolate shops with varying priced chocolate which will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Day 5: Enjoy a free day to explore everything Folkestone has to offer. From independent shops and galleries lining the cobbled streets of Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, to coastal walks and a host of places to eat, drink and get involved, you’re guaranteed to fall in love with Folkestone’s unique charm.
Day 6: After a leisurely breakfast, we set off on our journey home.
