Alnwick Garden Guided Tour
The brainchild of The Duchess of Northumberland, Alnwick Garden is a multi-award winning visitor attraction based in Alnwick, Northumberland. Twelve acres of meandering and magnificent gardens are home to the world’s largest Tai Haku Cherry Orchard, a Grand Cascade comprising 120 water jets and the world’s largest Treehouse Restaurant. Other delights to explore include the magnificent Poison Garden and the beautiful Rose Garden.
Northumbrian Steam Railway
The Heatherslaw Light Railway is the most northerly steam railway in England. We travel on the 15 inch gauge railway, pulled by steam locomotives “Bunty” and “Lady Augusta” or a diesel engine “Binky” between Heatherslaw Station and Etal Castle on a return journey of 4 miles. The Railway runs along the banks of the River Till giving you stunning views of the Northumberland countryside. You also have the opportunity to spot some of the local wildlife that live on the riverbank, including swans, herons, ducks and even the occasional otter!
Holy Island
We visit Seahouses where you can enjoy the bustling harbour of this colourful fishing village. Another stop takes in Bamburgh with miles of unspoilt white sandy beaches to walk upon and fabulous countryside to explore before we skim over the sands and causeway to Holy Island and prepare to enter another world. Thought to be the birthplace of Christianity, Lindisfarne is sure to provide you with an unforgettable experience.
