Scarborough is a seaside town of natural beauty, with stunning beaches, gardens and boating lakes. Take a stroll around the harbour, cafes and shops or along the scenic cliff tops for a panoramic view of the town. A twelfth century castle, North Bay miniature railway and the famous Peasholm Park are just some of the attractions you may want to experience during your visit.

Excursions

York
Spend a day in picturesque York, renowned for its medieval and Roman architecture and quaint cobbled streets. Visit the iconic York Minster or the Jorvik Viking Centre (admission not included), where visitors journey through the reconstruction of Viking Age streets, as they would have been 1000 years ago. You can also take a relaxing walk along the river and enjoy the city’s vibrant cafe culture and street entertainers.

Whitby & North Yorkshire Moors

We travel to the coastal resort of Whitby, with its skyline dominated by St. Hilda’s Abbey, and the church of St Mary. One hundred and ninety nine steps from the town centre lead you up into the churchyard on the east cliff which gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write Dracula. If that sounds too energetic, then meander round the maze of alleyways and streets which run down to the busy quayside. On the return journey we stop off for a while in Goathland, also known as the fictional “Aidensfield” in Heartbeat.
